National Epilepsy Week 15th May 2012

This week is National Epilepsy Week in Ireland and events are happening across the country during this week to raise awareness of Epilepsy.
On Tuesday 15th May there will be a Women's Information Evening in the River Lee Hotel Cork with Sinead Murphy, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Community Epilepsy Services in attendance.
A conference entitled "Epilepsy: Developments in a Difficult Climate" organized by the Royal Society of Medicine in association with Brainwave will be held in The River Lee Hotel Cork on Wednesday 16th May. The conference will cover updates on aspects of diagnosis and treatment in Ireland. The morning session is aimed at professionals working in Epilepsy Care. The afternoon session is open to people with epilepsy and their carers from 2.30 pm onwards free of charge.
Speakers on the day include Dr. Elijah Chalia, Consultant Neurologist from the Mid Western Hospital Limerick , Dr Brian McNamara, Consultant Neurophysiologist from Cork Univesity Hospital, Maire White ANP Epilepsy , Beaumont Hospital, Dr. Mark Mulrooney Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist from Beaumont Hospital, Dr. Niamh McSweeney, Paediatric Neurologist and Dr Danny Costello,Consultant Neuologist, Cork.
Information evenings and presentations are also planned for Cashel, Mayo, and Dundalk. In Dublin there will be a cinema outing on Saturday 19th May at Movies@Swords at the Pavilions Shopping Centre, Swords (contact Ina on 01-4557500 for details).
