On Friday May 27th 2022, Private HomeCare celebrated our annual graduation ceremony for professional QQI home care assistants. This day is always a highlight of our year. It is so rewarding to see our amazing home care assistants and their families celebrate their hard work, and achieve their goals.
Jackie Clarke, our valedictorian, who graduated with a QQI Level 6 Supervisory Management Module, delivered this inspirational and touching speech:
“Good evening everybody. I am Jackie, your Valedictorian for tonight. I’d like to thank Anna and Linda and all the staff at Private HomeCare as without them I wouldn’t be here tonight.
I’d like to say a huge congratulations to my fellow graduates. Continue to follow your goals and never give up.
As a mum to 4 young kids, I never let that stop me from fulfilling my goals. I’ve spent the last few years working my way through each module. It wasn’t an easy journey and I never thought I’d ever make it this far, but Anna and Linda were always a phone call away for support and I made it to where I am now.
It was through a training course that I began my job with Private HomeCare. I have always put everything into the care I provide which is why on top of my QQI training, I also completed extra modules such as dementia training. It gave me better understanding and experience since I work with many clients with dementia. I told one client I was working with that one day that I would be off work to do training. He gave me some wise words. He said when I was a boy we didn’t get many opportunities, you went to school and straight to work. He said aim far and you will go far. You don’t need a certificate to be a good person. I had only worked with him a year.
People in your life notice the difference you make in their lives and I’m hoping that one day my children will follow in my footsteps.
I would like to once again thank you and to my fellow graduates. I hope you all have a great night. I am so proud to have been chosen to do the speech for you tonight.”
We would also like to thank Mercy and Sam, 2022 graduates who also shared their stories with us. You inspired us with your personal stories.
Private HomeCare would like to congratulate each graduate. We are proud to have you in our team. Well done everyone.
