Course Outline

All adults have the right to be safe and to live a life free from abuse. All persons are entitled to this right, regardless of their circumstances. It is our responsibility to ensure that our clients are treated with respect and dignity, have their welfare promoted and receive support in an environment in which every effort is made to promote welfare and to prevent abuse.

All vulnerable people have a right to be protected against abuse and to have any concerns regarding abusive experiences addressed.

This course outlines the different types of abuse and gives the carer all available avenues in order to protect their client.

Half Day Course

This half day online course starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm

Anna Lloyd - Our Home Care Training Manager

Anna Lloyd is our in-house home care Training Manager. She designs and delivers all of our in-house training for both professional and family carers, for QQI modules right through to Major level, as well as short half day courses for family carers.

Anna Lloyd's background and qualifications

With a decade of experience in the home care industry before qualifying as a certified trainer, learners benefit tremendously from Anna’s work experience insights as well as course theory.

She holds the following qualifications: Professional Diploma in Education, Higher Diploma in Business in Marketing, Certificate in First Line Business Management and National Diploma in Humanities in Montessori Education.

Anna combines her practical knowledge with her training skills to ensure all learners achieve their goals, in a friendly and supportive learning environment.
Previously Anna has volunteered in Sri Lanka. She has recently taken up boxing as a hobby!

We realise that many people entering the care profession may not have been in a classroom for many years, even decades and can be fearful. We recognise this. Please do not worry! All classes are delivered based not only on knowledge but also with friendliness, support (and humour).

Assisted by Training and Compliance Co-ordinator, Linda Chadwick, whether you are an experienced carer or new to the profession, you are in safe and supportive hands. Anna and Linda have worked together for many years and know all of our carers by name.
