Supervisory Management Course Outline

The QQI Supervisory Management is a 5 day module which is available for those with Recognised Prior Learning (RPL). PLEASE NOTE: ***You must have completed a relevant QQI Level 5 prior to taking part in this course***

Teaching Format: Online class with trainer

This course is hosted by the trainer through the online platform, Zoom. You must have access to a laptop with a webcam or a smartphone.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the Supervisory Management training module, you will be able to:

Review key attributes of an effective supervisor and develop some of those skills
Evaluate principles and practices of supervision, and supervision approaches and styles.
Understand the supervisor role within the team, and role within the organization, monitoring progress
Review range of organizational skills for effective supervision and develop SMART goals for a team
Develop great communication and ability to overcome barriers for effective supervision, working with individuals and teams; Understand feedback and review.
Explore developing people (and yourself) building development plan and delegating work
Review team dynamic, negotiating within a team and motivating for performance

Anna Lloyd - Our Home Care Training Manager

Anna Lloyd is our in-house home care Training Manager. She designs and delivers all of our in-house training for both professional and family carers, for QQI modules right through to Major level, as well as short half day courses for family carers.

Anna Lloyd's background and qualifications

With a decade of experience in the home care industry before qualifying as a certified trainer, learners benefit tremendously from Anna’s work experience insights as well as course theory.

She holds the following qualifications: Professional Diploma in Education, Higher Diploma in Business in Marketing, Certificate in First Line Business Management and National Diploma in Humanities in Montessori Education.

Anna combines her practical knowledge with her training skills to ensure all learners achieve their goals, in a friendly and supportive learning environment.
Previously Anna has volunteered in Sri Lanka. She has recently taken up boxing as a hobby!

We realise that many people entering the care profession may not have been in a classroom for many years, even decades and can be fearful. We recognise this. Please do not worry! All classes are delivered based not only on knowledge but also with friendliness, support (and humour).

Assisted by Training and Compliance Co-ordinator, Linda Chadwick, whether you are an experienced carer or new to the profession, you are in safe and supportive hands. Anna and Linda have worked together for many years and know all of our carers by name.
