We care for others as we would like to be cared for ourselves

Training for Carers

We offer a full range of QQI accredited courses for care professionals and we also offer public short courses to family carers.

With 36 years experience in Home Care making us Ireland’s longest established home care provider, it was a logical step for us for to open our own home health care training department in 2016.

Why is Training Important?

Caring for others means entering their homes and private spaces, often during vulnerable times due to aging or various health conditions. That’s why it’s essential that our Home Care Assistants are thoroughly trained to perform their duties safely, correctly, and with empathy and respect.

Our guiding principle is simple: we care for others as we would like to be cared for ourselves. To uphold this, we operate to the highest standards. As a HSE-approved supplier, we meet—and consistently demonstrate compliance with—their rigorous requirements.

To ensure the quality of care we deliver, all Home Care Assistants must meet strict qualification criteria before joining our team.

We are currently only recruiting experienced home carers with a minimum of 6 months professional experience.

Many of our carers have not been in a classroom for years or even decades! For many, english may not be your native language. For others, conditions such as dyslexia may stop you applying to us.
Do not worry. Our training team are friendly and supportive. We will support you all the way.

We understand. Many of our carers are busy with their families and work as well as undertaking the mandatory training and refresher courses required.

Our courses run frequently throughout the year. Choose the dates that work for you and learn at your own pace (within HSE rules).

Learners receive a QQI Certification upon successful completion of a course. All of our QQI courses are certified by The CPL Institute, part of our parent company.

Learners on non-QQI courses receive a Private HomeCare certificate.  Learners who have completed and passed any QQI module are invited to our formal annual graduation ceremony, which takes place this year on Thursday March 28th at Finnstown House.

Our 2 day Induction To Caring Course for all our carers is free to attend. Other courses incur a fee. Please check each course for fees. All materials are included in this fee.
